Wedding Wednesday: Bridesmaids

Long before getting engaged, I had imagined who my bridesmaids would be. Without sisters of my own, I have been blessed to have girlfriends who I feel as close to as family and who I've shared my greatest and hardest life experiences with. There are those friendships that you don't worry about. Even if you haven't seen someone in months, if you live in different states or countries, if you don't catch up as often as you both know you should, at the end of the day you know that this is a friendship that matters with a person who is truly special. That's how I feel about each of my bridesmaids, the girls I can't wait to celebrate with on this crazy, wonderful day.

Jhani, my maid of honor and one of my best friends from high school, is a deaf education teacher in New York. Bonus: Jhani got engaged a few days ago so we will be planning two weddings this year! I cannot wait to see this gorgeous girl as a bride.

Vicky, a bridesmaid and one of my best friends from high school, currently lives in South Sudan working with refugees and will be making the cross continental voyage to be at our wedding!

Allye, a bridesmaid, one of my best friends from college, and former roomie, is about to start graduate school in Portland for elementary education after years of working with kids around the world.

Avery, a bridesmaid, one of my best friends from college, former roomie, and study abroad partner-in-crime, is an elementary school teacher in Eugene continuing to represent the green and yellow for the rest of us!

Ali, a bridesmaid and one of my best friends from childhood, recently finished her Master's in psychology and is working as a therapist in Los Angeles, helping people from all walks of life.

Cassie, a bridesmaid and future sister-in-law (Jeff's little sister), is a senior at St. Mary's in Moraga so by the time the wedding rolls around, she'll be on to her next exciting chapter!

Emily, a bridesmaid and future sister-in-law, is a reporter and journalist in New York (she does live TV beautifully!) who's in the midst of getting ready to marry my big bro.

The Flowers:
(Dresses, Flowers)

We live all over the place so we haven't been able to get together for the traditional pre-wedding festivities, but we'll descend on San Francisco during our wedding week and make up for lost time. I love these girls so much and I am so excited to have them by my side!
