Last night marked the 90th anniversary of the independent girls' school where I work. To celebrate, we invited 800 friends in the community to an auction benefit at the American Museum of Natural History, to dine, dance, bid, and reminisce, all in the name of fundraising for scholarship. For me, this night was especially special because it was the first event of its kind that I planned from fruition to completion. So while we were celebrating 90 years of the history of an institution that I love, I was having my own celebration for a personal first, and both felt magical.
